esi: Who are you, what do you do and what makes you an expert on your start-upcountry?
Marc: The Greenhouse has been founded by leading entrepreneurs in ICT in Luxembourg who have been involved in a number of successful exits, i.e. acquisition by Monster and publicly listed REA Group. Our approach is that of a “company builder” where we help a selected few projects we strongly believe in. We’re quite hands-on as we believe that it is critical to make a good use of the limited resources, especially in early-stage companies.
esi: What is cool about your start-upcountry, what inspires you and keeps you thriving?
Marc: Luxembourg has an ever-growing start-up eco-system. The multi-cultural melting pot allows founders to create a European company from day one! Entrepreneurs should follow the money and there is plenty of money to be found in Luxembourg.
esi: What makes you shake your head about your start-upcountry, what needs to be improved?
Marc: Entrepreneurship is still a novel concept, especially since there is still a need for qualified people in the country and the established companies offer very attractive salaries. Hence the entrepreneurs are really in it because they are passionate about their ventures!
esi: What’s some cool fact we are likely not to know about your start-upcountry?
Marc: One of the biggest European start-up success – i.e. Skype – was built out of Luxembourg, and this was not for tax reasons!
esi: Thank you for the interview.
